Resilio Studio was engaged by Auckland Council to design the redevelopment of Taniwha Reserve. Resilio Studio worked closely with Auckland Council’s Community Facilities and Healthy Waters, and the wider subconsultant team to provide a design that provides significant benefits to the local community through improved water quality, public amenity and ecological enhancement. The primary driver for the project is the integration of a stormwater wetland and riparian restoration in the reserve as a significant aspect of the wider management strategy for the Omaru Creek catchment. The brief also required improvement of the amenity, safety and accessibility of the reserve and included increased parkland spaces, amenity planting, shared pedestrian / cycle paths, bridge and boardwalk structures, furniture and signage. At the time of writing, the reserve is under construction scheduled to be completed by April 2022.
