Resilio Studio were engaged by The Huapai Hub Convening Group along with Auckland Council’s Community Empowerment Unit and Parks, to adapt the Pomegranate Center’s Cycle of Ownership model to develop the Huapai Hub. This was the first Auckland Council project to apply the Pomegranate Center model to a public open space and community facility redevelopment. Resilio Studio have worked with Auckland Council and community members to run a series of co-design workshops and community information events work with the local community to design a place for them to own, celebrate and cherish. Detailed design for the first two phases is now complete and the project is currently under construction. The building of the hub has included a range of activities and working bees for the community to facilitate their involvement in the implementation.
