Resilio have been commissioned to design a small, stand-alone studio and composting toilet for a home in Muriwai. It is to be constructed in two stages from 90% reused materials. The composting toilet is to be completed in the first stage and the studio will be completed at a later date. The design utilises a range of carefully composed recycled, salvaged and/or repurposed materials including steel framing, plumbing fittings and fixtures, timber cladding, corrugated iron, laminated beams, windows and joinery to provide a concept for the studio with a ‘modern salvaged vernacular’. Resilio Studio will be completing detailed design for this project early 2018.
